Terahertz broadband polarization converter based on the double-split ring resonator metasurface

Abstract A terahertz broadband polarization converter based on the metasurface of a double-split ring resonator is proposed. The structural parameters this device have been optimized in numerical simulations. results show that frequency range from 0.49 to 1.88 THz (bandwidth 1.39 THz) proposed rotates incident linearly polarized waves through 90°. conversion rate more than 80%. coefficient reflection for cross greater 90% with transmission loss 1 dB. surface current distribution structure was simulated and analyzed at three frequencies give high rates polarization. mechanism underlying presented, dependence angle stimulated analyzed. performance good incidence angles ranging 0 30° − 10 10°. Compared previous designs, has simple broad operational bandwidth. It potential applications field modulation.
